So I got the result of his 2nd ultrasound in the mail today. It says:
Findings: The right kidney measures approximately 5.23cm, increased from 5.15cm on the previous study. The left kidney measures approximately 5.22cm, increased from 4.95cm in the previous study. A small amount of fluid is seen within each renal pelvis. There is no dilation of the calices. The proximal ureters are not visualized. Color Doppler blood flow is present within both kidneys. No perinephric collections are seen. Bilateral ureteral jets are identified. There is only small amount of urine within urinary bladder.
Impression:
1. Interval renal growth, as above.
2. Trace fluid within the renal pelvis, bilaterally. No caliceal dilation is identified. The kidneys are not grossly hydronephrotic and this could be related to normal urinary excretion.
3. Bilateral ureteral jets exclude ureteral obstruction.
If I remember it right, the urologist said that if the fluid increased more than .10mm then his kidneys needs to be monitored and there is tendency that he needs to take antibiotic. Based on the result above, his right kidney increased .08mm, his left increased .27mm. His left kidney increased alot of amount :( But the urologist said that he don't need to take any medicine as usually, this kind of case resolves on its own. Oh God! I really hope so.

No amount???
It's been a week and a day now since Zac's 2nd ultrasound and I finally got the result of it (yeah, just now!). I called them last Wednesday for the result but as usual, its their voicemail who answered my call so I just left a message to call me back. Unfortunately, no call from them on that day. I waited til Thursday,., still no call from them so I decided to call the next day. Friday came and stiiiiiill no call from them. I was so frustrated the whole weekend as I wanted to know the condition of my baby. I called them Monday morning and I was happy that I got a call from them on the afternoon. A nurse called me and informed me that he (Urologist) wants to see Zac before they give the result. I asked her "Is there any problem with my son?Why does he needs to see him? " she answered "Because that is how we do it" I replied "Is that the best answer that you can give to me? That is how you (hospital/doctor) do it?". I mean, why not tell me the result? if the result is negative then that's good BUT if there is any problem in his kidneys then let me know so I could bring my son to him but I want to know the result first (which i deserve to know) before I bring my son there. I didn't want to be rude or mean to her but giving me crappy answer like "Because that is how we do it" made me more confused and scared about the result. I mean, common! I waited days for their call and that is the answer I will get from them???
Today, I spoke to his doctor's secretary and she said that there is fluid that was found in his renal area. Urologist also said he has mild hydrophrosis and it usually resolves on its on so he doesn't need to take any antibiotics. My son also needs to have another ultrasound 6 months from now to check if the fluid is still there. I asked for the amount of fluid they found in his kidney but the secretary wasn't able to give it to me because it wasn't noted in his record. Anyways, I just asked her to send me my son's medical record.
I am thankful that my son is one of those lucky kid who only has mild hydronep. I am also hoping and praying that the fluid will be gone soon.

2nd KUB
Nine o' clock this morning is his appointment. When we arrived in the hospital, I was like "Oh my! waiting time again." I was glad though because we were called on time this time because I waited for one hour on the last time I had my pregnancy ultrasound there.
Zac started crying when the technician slightly opened his clothes to put on that gel thing for his ultrasound. Hubby gave him milk and that made him stopped from crying hehe. During the ultrasound, I saw his kidney on the monitor but of course i don't understand what's going on. I just saw that the size of his right kidney is 5.34mm and his left is 5.18mm. I don't know if his kidneys are considered enlarged with those sizes. I keep on searching on the net on what is the normal size of kidneys on babies but I couldn't find any site :(
They told me that the result will be forwarded to his Urologist this Wednesday. I will call his Urologist maybe Thursday? I hope that he already read the ultrasound by then.
We are just being positive that the result will turn out negative like the result of his first ultrasound. Oh God! Please help my son. I hope nothing is serious in his kidney condition. Please bless him.

1 month old
Hooorrraayyy! Zac is one month old today!!!
He weighs more than 9lbs now. He drinks 34 ounces of milk in a day and 3 to 4oz per feeding. Some of his new born clothes won't fit anymore so I let him wear 0-3 months old size of clothes. He still don't like to wear mittens :D His neck is trying to lift his head whenever he is lying on his tummy. He has cradle cap which i put baby oil to prevent making it worse. He has some rashes on his face. He is loosing his hair which will grow back according to his grandpa ( it runs in their family :D ). Humming a song makes him easily fall asleep. He is getting chunky (no more chicken legs lol!). He makes funny faces. He likes sleeping while the car is running and makes noises whenever it stopped lol! He loooves apple juice. He doesn't like drinking water. He usually makes "i don't like" face or whines whenever we introduce new food to him (except apple juice). He likes being cuddled and like being talked to. He usually will look at you when you talk to him (seems like he is paying attention to what you are saying). He doesn't like cold weather (like mommy like son). He still looks cute when he cries :D

3 week old Zac
It is fun to see child's development day by day. Zac put smile on my face every time I see development on him so I created this post to track his developmental milestone.
( 3 week old )
Motor Development
Visual Development
Language Development
Social/Emotional Development
Cognitive Development
Motor Development
- Opens and shuts his hands. He likes doing this over and over again. Sometimes I feel like he is grabbing something in the air.
- Raises his head and chest while lying on his stomach. He is comfortable sleeping lying on his stomach but however he raises his head and chest whenever he feel like he don't want to lie on his stomach.
- Stretches his legs out and kicks when lying on stomach or back. He does this too whenever he doesn't want to lie on his stomach.
- Mouths objects brought to his face. He sticks his bib and blanket or anything that he can grab to his mouth which simply means "Mommmyy! I am hungry."
- Grabs my hair gently. When I am feeding him, he sometimes grabs my hair and just hold it for awhile. He release it though every time I take my hair away from him.
- Strong grip. His grandpa is impressed how strong his grip is.
Visual Development
- Watches faces intently. I think that he really can see things already on the first day that he was born. Of course its not 20/20 vision, but I think that he can see glare already because every time I feed him, his eyes follows my face whenever I move to right and left.
- Likes looking at lights. He adores lights. He likes staring at them :)
Language Development
- He don't "coo" yet but he is already starting to by his mouth forming round shape.
Social/Emotional Development
- Imitates you when you stick out your tongue. He is soooo cute every time he stick out his tongue. Awhile ago, while my niece was holding him, She stuck her tongue out of him and he stuck his tongue back out of her hehe.
- Smiles and grins. He likes smiling and showing his cute dimples. He also grins while he sleeps. They says that if a baby smile or grins while he/she is sleeping then that means his/her guardian angel is playing with him/her.
Cognitive Development
- Plays with her fingers.
- Brings his hands to his mouth. This indicates that he is hungry.

First appointment to his Pediatrician
This morning was Zac's first appointment to his pedia. The 3 of us (me, hubby & Zac) was up early to go to the clinic. Jeez! it was freaking 10F outside and we all need to hurry in getting inside the car or else we might turn into popsicle sticks lol!
Inside the clinic, after hubby filled out some papers, the nurse checked Zac's weight. He weighs 7.52 lbs. when he was born and weighs 6.10 lbs after a couple of days. The nurse told me that it is normal to an infant to lose 7 % of its weight after few days the baby was born. I found this site which explains on why. Zac's weight went 6.18 lbs. on the 5th day which was a good sign because infant shouldn't continue losing weight. Anyway, his weight now is *drum roll* 8.10 lbs. woohooo! He gained almost 2 lbs. in 15 days :D The pedia told us everything looks fine with Zac and his jaundice was gone :)
We then went home and finally, I received the call I have been waiting for. It is the call from his urologist. Actually, it was his secretary who called me.The secretary told me that Zac's urologist already reviewed his record of ultrasound from the hospital where he was born. She said that his urologist wants him to have another KUB. Why? the urologist said that usually, babies are born dehydrated til their second day which makes the KUB result inaccurate if it is done within the day that he is born til his 2nd day. Sooo now, Zac is scheduled to have his 2nd KUB on Jan 18th.
I hope that everything will be fine. I love my son and I always pray for his safety and health.

Zachary's smile
Friday, January 1, 2010
Welcome baby Zachary!
I know that I am already late in posting this. I was very busy taking care of my sweet lil' son ever since he was born last Dec. 17, 2009. So, Ok! I'll share now on what happened on my labor and delivery at the hospital.
8:00 AM - We arrived in the hospital.
8:30 AM - I was already 6cm but i didn't feel any contraction. They gave me IV
9:00 AM - They gave me Epidural so that I won't feel any labor pain.
9:30 AM - They gave me Petocin and they break my bag of water.
10:00 AM - I was 8cm already. While I was watching TV in our room, they asked me on what time do I want to start pushing. I told them I want 12PM because that is the time that Ellen De Generes show is over LOL! The nurses just laughed at me
11:30 PM - I was 9 1/2 cm dilated.
12:00 PM - I was exactly 10cm, The Ellen show is over and I was ready to push
2:34 PM - The baby was delivered through normal delivery. He weighs 7.52 lbs and 20 1/2 inches long and we have another good news! He had his ultrasound and his kidneys are cleared He still needs to see his Urologist though to have his KUB just to make sure that there is really no more liquids in his kidneys.
I didn't feel ANY pain at all because they gave me Epi first before Petocin. My husband was with me during the delivery and during delivery, they were wondering on why i am laughing while pushing LOL! I know I was weird. I was laughing because I expected the worst pain in this world but I never felt any pain at all! Ain't that sweet?
My husband is so cute. He told me that he will be with me during my delivery but he will not look "down there" while I am pushing. But when the midwife said "I can see the head now! Keep pushing!" then hubby looked and didn't stopped looking "down there" LOL! He actually keep on telling me to push more and more while holding my hand and rubbing gently my head which gave me more strength in pushing :) After I gave birth, I asked him if it grossed him out watching me delivering the baby. He said "No, it was actually amazing" lol!
I am soooo thankful to God with this wonderful blessing
And to all the pregnant women that will give birth soon, good luck to you all and may you all have safe delivery!
