How did the family feud turn American Chopper from a failed television series to one of the most popular ones?

I appreciate the guest post, Ricky Mcguire

I've been watching this series since it was just Orange County Choppers and the family all worked together. However, business moves sparked the split-up of the family leading to Paul Jr. starting his own shop right down the road from his own father who got him his start in building custom motorcycles.
The series was failing as the feud and arguments were just starting to simmer, but when things exploded into this split and lawsuits were filed, this series got split up from one team filming OCC to two teams filming family and business rivalry.
Behind the scenes, it's realistic and crazy at the same time. The camera crews even have to meet up in secret locations to get their paychecks, it's that big of a deal! It may have started out just a shop building custom motorcycles with their family, but it's now something that is bound to change the world of motorcycles forever.
Quick Note: I get this on a premium HD channel through direct star tv, it's not available on regular television. So if you want to catch it, you have to make sure you can watch American Chopper.
