He is sick :(

He was fine and full of joy around 1:00AM. In fact he was playing with his daddy and he laughed and laughed. Few hours after he fell asleep, he woke me up with a high pitched scream. I woke up immediately and checked him. I gave him milk but he was still crying. I changed his dirty diaper and still crying. I made him sit up and he still cried. Those are the normal reasons why he cries so I really felt that something is really wrong with him. He only stopped crying after I stood up and held him.

He woke up almost every hour just to cry and to ask for milk. I know that he wasn't bloated because I made him burp. At 9AM, his temperature was 98.6 F which is higher than his normal temperature which is 97.2 - 97.6 F. I told him to my husband and continued monitoring Zac. At 2PM, it went up to 99.9 F so I got scared and went to hubby again. I thought we need to rush him to the doctor but hubby said the doctor would not do anything to him unless his temp is higher than 100 F. Hubby gave him Tylenol for babies. He mixed it with the milk that he was drinking. It seems like the taste didn't bother him because he drank it all. At 5PM, I checked his temp and it went down to 98.2 F. I felt relieved. He seems better now than awhile ago. He gave me few smiles and he don't cry much now.

Right now, he is sleeping and he seems alright. I hope he feels better soon. BTW, below is the video of Zac playing daddy. This was taken few hours before he got sick.

Confused??

I keep on telling Zac "Say mommy, mo-mmy" or "Say daddy, da-ddy" but unfortunately I don't get any response from him. But if I tell him "I love you", he mimics and say "I love you" to me. I say I love you to Zac very often than teaching him to say the word "mommy" and "daddy" so I guess that is the reason why he likes to say I love you. Sometimes I think that he thinks that I love you is his name LOL! If he is watching TV and I tell him I love you, he will look at me. When he is half asleep and I say I love you to him, he will smile at me with his eyes closed. I wonder if he really knows what I love you means. Last night, I said I love you to him three times and he said I love you to me three times too.

Tomorrow, I'll start calling him by his name so he will start knowing his name. I am glad though that he can say I love you and yeah I love him so much.

St. Patrick's Day

Zac wore green clothes last St. Pat's Day. We went to shop with my dad-in-law that day and I decided to make him wear green since its St. Pat's Day. I know, it is the Irish's tradition of wearing green during that minor holiday (here in the US) but some Americans also wear green so I decided to make Zac join the club LOL!

Hubby told me that there are rivers here in the US that they dye green to celebrate this day. If I remember it right, I think it is the Chicago River.

TRIVIA: Originally, the colour associated with Saint Patrick was blue. However, over the years the color green and its association with Saint Patrick's day grew. Green ribbons and shamrocks were worn in celebration of St Patrick's Day as early as the 17th century.

  • His first wordS is "I love you". Yeah, you read it right, first words not word :D I was putting him to sleep one time (when he was 2 months old ) when I said I love you to him then I kinda heard him say "i love you". At first I didn't believed what he said because he is too young to say words like that so in short I ignored it. He did it again after few days so I immediately told it to my hubby and like me, he didn't believe it either. Few days after, I was talking to Zac while filming him when I said I love you to him and he said "i love you" to me :D Actually I didn't realize that he said it again til I showed the video to my husband THEN that is the time that he believed it because it was caught on cam. I'll post that video sometime next week whenever I get time to do it hehe. Well, its not really he said the word "i love you" clearly but he can sound it already :)

Social/Emotional Development
  • Coos, gurgles and smiles with pleasure when he sees me
  • He gives the cutest and biggest smile to people 95% of the time.
  • Recognizes and prefers the people closest to him
  • Snuggles into my arm's for security and comfort
  • He is more communicative with his face and body
  • Smiles, frown and grimaces

Cognitive Development
  • Focuses visually on object big or small
  • Improves his ability to follow objects with her eyes
  • Responds to loud sounds by crying or becoming silent or startled
  • Enjoys the sights and sounds while being taken for a stroll
  • Developing hand-eye coordination

Zac at the Park

My Filipina friend and I decided to bring our sons in the park today since the sun is up and it is not cold. This is the first time that Zac went to the park so I was excited for him. The park is just walking distance away from our house actually it is only 2 or 3 blocks away. As usual, he fell asleep in his stroller on our way to the park and started waking up when we got in there. He usually fell asleep whenever you rock him and during ride and will make noises once the car stops (even stop light) hehe. Here is a pic of him in the park together with Mr. Snuggle.

I am so busy this past few weeks that I am not able to update this blog. I will try to catch up tomorrow and the next day.
